Question How do I check the winsock state in VB.NET?

Ok, normally in VB6 you'd use something like the below to check winsock state before sending:

If sckClient.State = sckConnected Then sckClient.SendData(strData)
DoEvents()
End If

If I try and use the above in VB.NET I get an error:
'State' is a type in 'AxMSWinsockLib.AxWinsock' and cannot be used as an expression.

How would I check the winsock state in VB.NET?

Dont use the winsock control in VB.Net. Use the System.Net.Sockets namespace.
