Default Timer Triggers in Access or SQL server

hie everyone,

I am developing a database for online advertisement website. Not very good in databases but giving it a go....They want to post ads in the form of image, which should be save either within the data base or should be uploaded on the website and its path saved. Each ad has a certain time limit after which its status should be marked closed. How can i achived this functionality with Access or SQL server. For eg, if an ads closing date has passed, its status should be marked closed automatically. Also, how can i store an image in Access or SQL server and then retrieve it back from ASP to be used.

Another thing i want to know is it possible for Access or SQL server to delete Files present on the OS. If yes, how can i do it?

- In SQL Server, Create a Job that runs however often you want to check for expiration. Include the Query in it that updates the db.

- In SQL Server or Access, you use the .GetChunk and .AppendChunk methods of the recordset object to store images in a field.

- In SQL Server, you can use the xp_cmdshell Stored Procedeure to delete a file. e.g.

EXEC master.dbo.xp_cmdshell "del \\Server\Path\file.txt"
