Default Export DataGrid or DataTable to Excel

Can someone please provide me with a sample on how to export a datagrid or datatable to excel? Perferrably a sample where all i'm required to do is pass the datagrid/table as a parameter =)

Thanks.

Thanks.
I don't think Excel's API supports datatable objects. I believe thats an ADO.Net thing.
However, if you have a recordset, you can use Excels CopyFromRecordset function.

Go to the .Net Office how to section. That tells you how to automate Excel.

not that I know of.

Unless you've got a recordset, I think your stuck with looping through the datagrid.

IF your datagrid is databound, then you could use Microsoft Query to automagically populate the excel table, but you'd have to build the query, and that can get hairy to maintain.

I did find this though, which may help;

(So apparently you can, just not in a single line of code)
