Default Import 3d model with opengl

Hello,

I need a 3d loader (I do not care if it is 3ds,collada or sth else), because I search and I find only c code for opengl until now. Has anybody done this?

Thank you

I'd recommend using DirectX because AFAIK OpenGL is C-specific. Do you have to use OpenGL?

How far can you have gotten with your project if you don't know how to load 3D models into the application? Autodesk's 3ds Max offers good functionality for converting between several 3D formats. It is rather expensive though. What formats are your models stored as?

It most certainly have been written before, but it's not very common to see C# in combination with OpenGL. Therefore it is not certain that any model loaders of any format has been published online. Your best bet is to pick an easy format like SMD or OBJ and write your own parsers for these files types. Both types are plain text so they're easy to work with and especially debugging.
