Default Disappearing Bullets?!?!

I'm working on a game where the enemy shoots back at my player (its similar to space invaders as the player is only allowed to move right and left across the bottom of the screen and the enemies scroll across the top). The problem is that the bullets the enemy shoots disappear before they hit the player! And its not even at the same time, some of the bullets make it down all the way and others stop in the middle and others stop at the very top! The game code is very long so i can't post it and i don't even know where the problem is to post that section and get help.

If anyone has any ideas i would really appreciate hearing them!

Thanks

Why not describe the algorithm used to display bullets and a pertinent snippet of code? No one needs to see the entire game. Right now, my crystal ball has absolutely no idea given the "information" you provided.

How are you getting them to check if they collided with the enemies.

Are you mixing up the X and Y coordinates or using X coordinates on both X & Y checks? If so, the bullets would disappear on a slope instead of a fixed Y value at the bottom.
