Question background application ?

Hey I have a program that I will be running minimized and not in focus. Basically I want to hit the f11 key and have it take a snapshot of the screen. My question is how would I keep only certain key in top priority just for the background application ? Thanks for any help

I think what you're asking about is a low level keyboard hook (i.e. how to capture keyboard events when your program doesn't have focus).

Hopefully this article provides the answer you're looking for -> http://www.developer.com/net/net/art...-in-VB-NET.htm

A low level keyboard hook is a nuclear bomb for this functionality. (Also discussing them is against our policies.) In this case, the RegisterHotKey() API is easier and safer.

Cool

Well I'm not doing anything against the rules. I am making an application that can control and sendkey strokes simultaneously to multiple applications (even ones on other networks)

I already know how to get exclusive keycontrol and send it using direct input. However direct input is no longer supported in managed code and I don't want all the extra dependencies in my project.

Well I figured it out and don't worry this information is safe with me :P now I just need to find an efficient way to broadcast the keys to another process without losing focus on the current one.
