Talking Code Snippet Question

I'm new to using code snippets (I know, I should have been using them for years). I'm using the Literal so I can replace text throughout the snippet, but I've run into an autoformat issue. Example snippet:
Code:
dim ds$VariableName$ as dataset
ds$VariableName$.Dispose()
The problem is when I insert the snippet, it auto formats it before I can replace the variable. So it ends up like this:
Code:
Dim ds"VariableName" As New DataSet
ds("VariableName".Dispose())
Without turning off auto formatting for my entire IDE, how can I get around this?

Thanks!
