Default Mci Flaw?

I'm not looking for any help. I'm just pointing out
a possible flaw with mcisendstring.

I made a video player using mcisendstring and as you may
already know, you can not get mouse coordinates from the
mci window, created over top of the control selected as the
parent for the mci window.

To fix this, i had to place another control(Panel) with a transparent
color over top of my mci parent control in order to get mouse
coordinates.

Everything was working great until i played an avi file and
then my player went to crap on me. It took me a long time
to figure this one out.

When-ever i paused the video and then resumed play, my
panel control would not respond to anything, like it wasn't
even there. Not only that, the video would not resume play
back and eventually it either froze or closed out the mci
device. Either way, i had to close out my program and find
the problem. No errors were thrown at any time during all
of this.

Long story short, it wound up being the mci command
resume that was the culprit. Right after every use of it,
the program when to pot on me.

As of now, i created my own resume sub.
Code:
Public Sub PlayMediaTo(ByVal Value As Integer)
    ' changing position of media
    retVal = mciSendString("play movie from " & (Value), vbNullString,0,0)
End Sub
It's funny also that any other video format that i played, did not like
the resume command either. I just used the play command and it
worked great, until i used an avi file. Now all video formats use the
PlayMediaTo sub in place of the resume command..
