Angry Bah vb6 to .Net not going so well

Okay, this is a seemingly stupid problem to me...But when I compile my program in visual studio .Net 7 it works on my computer, but when I transfer it to another computer without visual studio installed, It won't run...Does anyone have any solutions to this problem =/ :(

May seem like a stupid question, but do you have the .Net Framework installed from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en on the other puter?

Yea we installed the .Net Framework 1.1 But it still didn't work. We'll try again and see if there was a problem with the install, I guess...

Okay, I have the following installed on my computer:

Microsoft Visual Studio .Net
Microsoft Development Enviroment 2002 (Visual Stupio.Net ?)
Microsoft .Net Framework 1.0
Microsoft .Net Framework 1.1
Microsoft .Net Framework SDK 1.1

What do I need installed on the other computer to get the program working? Which framework do I need? Is there a certain way I need to set up the compilation or something? I'm completely lost. Please help me solve this =/

Have you created an installer application? You can't simply copy the binary executable over, and expect it to run, like you could get away with often in vb6.

Hehe, you sound so unimpressed with VB.NET, yet when you have used it for over 6 months, you will begin to wonder how you programmed in that unresponsive VB6 environment...

Default 6 to net

I find it easier to just include any dependent dll's in the project, then when I make the cab or install file, I make sure those interoperability files are included.

One thing that I have found that breaks alot if I do not do it this way is the ado dll junk, since not everyone is using 2.8, and 2.8 does not install quiet accuratly.

And heaven forbid if you use the vb6 to .net converter, forget it, just re-write the application from scratch.
