Question Making a deployment package: get an .msi and a setup.exe. Why two installers ?

Visual Studio has created an install package (chose "setup file") for my app - but I get two binaries in my _setup release folder:

setup.exe = 434 KB
myProject_Setup.msi = 4769 KB

On my 2nd PC I've installed the .msi without any problems (and the setup.exe wasn't around). So what is the purpose of setup.exe ?

If Windows Installer isn't installed on a PC, the .msi won't run. The setup.exe installs the windows installer and then runs the .msi (that's how VSI typically works anyway).
