Default Deploy to file server

I have an application that is used by a number of people. I am upgrading it to .net (legacy VB6 program). My old method was I have the database (access) and the .exe program on a network drive. Then I have a shortcut on all the users machines to run that .exe. Saves me from managing which version each user has. Works perfect in VB6.

However now that I have upgraded to .net I can not get it to run on the shared drive. Works fine on my drive (or others). When I run it on the network drive it works, except when I need a custom control (example open the calendar and I get "Could not load file or assembly 'AxInterop.MSACAL".

I think my issue is it is running off the server and I can not load .net onto the server (IT is having heartburn). Is there a way to refer to a folder on the driver for the drivers?

Any ideas?
Thanks!
