Default Need to see hidden folders from the FolderBrowserDialog

I need to see hidden folders from the FolderBrowserDialog. The user has the authority to view hidden files and folders.

Is there a property I can set within the FolderBrowserDialog?

Based on the MSDN information for this class there doesn't seem to be a way to enable that capability. As I recall the SHBrowseForFolder API Function has the same limitation.

The FolderBrowserDialog display is based on the settings in explorer. You can get it to display the Hidden folders by setting the Folder Options/View/Show Hidden Files and Folders.

If you want to enable it via your program you can set the following Registry Key
Code:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Hidden
Set the Dword value to the following:
1 = show hidden files and folders
2 = Hide hidden files and folders
I would recommend that if you set the registry via code you get the current setting first and restore it before your program closes.

Question Anwser!

If you add an app.manifest to your project and make the program run as Administrator you will see hidden files. (Administrator rights make them visible).

My program needs Administrator rights but its not allowed to see hidden files. how i solve this problem?
