Yep, sounds good. However, you should precheck for user-errors as well, as much as possible, anyway.

Yes, it is still fully compiled, but it includes debugging symbols, and the DEBUG constant equates to 'True', etc. Look under the 'Build' menu and you'll find menu items such as 'Solution Configurations' and 'Configuration Manager...'
