Default Word 2003 VB Creating Multiple Hyperlinks

I would like to start my thread by saying that I am new to this VB macro coding so I apologize in advance for my lack of VB knowledge.

What I need....

I have a Word document that I use as a template to create a simple document which links a user to multiple (hundreds) of pdf documents, sometimes (rarely) other files such as .dwg or .doc

I would like a macro which upon running would open up a dialog that would allow me to select multiple files; i.e. in the same root folder as the word document I am working on, and generate hyperlinks in the word document on separate lines and name the links the filename of each respective document without the extension or filepath.

Also the macro must be able to create hyperlinks to files that have "spaces" in the file name and still link properly as they are generally filenames such as "Item 1.03 Vacuum Blower Drawing #139485".

Is this possible?

If it is not possible to do the multiple hyperlinks at once feature; even a macro that would open a dialog and create a hyperlink (one-at-a-time) and name the link the file name without the extension or file path would be time-saving.

Thanks in advance!
