Privates Messages

is it just me or lots of poeple never reply to there private messages, does every know how this actualy works?

I have that problem, especially with new members. I think it is hard to
see that little flashing icon at first.

I think therefore I am... sometimes right. images/icons/wink.gif

would it be possible to get a pop up message or something?

I think it's pretty easy to identify a private message. It's the only thing on the page that is flashing. It catches my attention right away

"AAAHHHHHHH!!!! I can't stand this "junior contributor" title. Self esteem is going down....

it depends on the css, try selecting the blues and you'll see that the little envelope isn't as much apparent

well folks i'm ok with the messages, i see it well and i know how it works, but is it the same for all the users, especialy newcomers?

I've had no problems. I thought it was a fairly small leap of logic to associate a little flashing envelope with a private message.

LOL - yes, but I never knew about any of these lower-down forums until way after I joined, I only posted in the VB Help ones...... images/icons/smile.gif

I'd guess people just ignore you Laurent :) Maybe you have a odour problem? I signed up but one day ago and the first thing i did was look at the flashy sign and say 'oh.. i guess that means i have new mail.. stupid welcome from the webmaster thing.. i knew i should have deleted it'.

Then again.. prehaps i am just a genius? I think i like that answer better...

Is there a flashin icon? Never saw it... If I get new private messages a message is sent to my e-mail address. And than I get a messagebox saying I've got new mail...
