Where have all the forms gone, so long ago...

I have several programs written by yours truly running on my network computers. These program do various things: controls access to computer by hiding all icons and start buttons, hiding desktop icons, shows username and ip address, gives time. A screensaver reboots the computer (it is then reimaged) after the screensaver has run 6 hours.

The problem that I am having is sometimes I will get a form1 on my task bar (none of my programs are suppose to show in the taskbar). Sometimes there is more than one, Sometimes there is one without a title. When you click on the form1 or the one without a title, nothing happens but it disappears.

I have rechecked all my programs and made sure they ended properly (you know, no end - form1 unload.. set form1 = nothing.

Has anyone seen/heard of this or had this problem.

Not personally, but I have experienced this in many other apps. If I had
to guess what it the thing that ties them all together, I would have to say
Screensavers. I have turned them all off on my computers because I see
many more unexplained problems when they run than without them.

Happens to me all the time. Not just with VB either but things like wordpad, eudora, netscape etc.

After I close the app, the icon remains in the taskbar until I click on it. I sometimes get the button with no caption thing too.

I think it is a windows problem rather than VB. Although I wonder why you are seeing "form1"...
