i've been searching this forum a lot ( a good way to learn more...) and a found several reverences to declare variables as windows "objects" , like word.application outlook.application and so on. But i'm unable to do that, vb don't recognize it like a valid "type". I imagine that it maybe have something with references, but how to do that ?

Go to Project Menu>References.
Tick the ones you want.

An example would be to check "Microsoft Word 9.0 Object Library" if you wish to deal with Word.

Good Luck
