Hi!

I made an MP3 player with mediaplayer7. It works fine on WIN98ME, but it doesn't work on regular WIN98. So, I'd like to change my code to do playing with some API calls if possible. Allso, I'd like to make "Graphic equalizer" for my player.

Q is:

1. What API should I use for playing MP3's?
2. How (if possible) could make Graphic equalizer in VB?

I've looked in API Gude but couldn't found anything usefull.

Thanx in advance

Regards!

Read Squirms recent tutor on DirectMusic. You should manage MP3 with this I think....
As to manipulating the equalisation... a little trickier methinks. Perhaps DirectMusic will help there too.
Here's a google search Click me (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=directx+vb+equalization+mp3)

Good luck images/icons/smile.gif

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think that DirectMusic is concerned with synthesised sound. To play MP3s you would need to use DirectSound.

Thanx for the quick reply!

I think Banjo is right. DirectMusic is only for .WAV (quote on Squirm) and one should use DirectSound for mp3 (I think he's working on one right now!).

I'm just searching your link. If anything pops up I'll post it here and if you/anyone find something, please give me feeedback!

Need it like...Yesterday!!
