Resources Problem

I have a program which moves information from the Excel spreadsheet to a 2 dimensional array, and then to the dbgrid.

What I would like to do is to have the program monitor system resources and, if they are peaking, have it wait a moment and then continue.I have found that if you scroll manually through the program then it will work,it is only when the program runs continually on large imports that it sees this problem.

Anyone know how to monitor system resources? And am I totally out to lunch here?
