hi, i'm pretty much a complete beginner and i need help with this... you know how you double click on an mpeg video file and it automatically opens up in media player and plays it? how can i simply make a command button that executes the file?
see, what i have is a cd-extra that i made, its a collection of songs from my favourite band to play in your hi-fi or pc, and the cd also contains mpegs of the bands music videos. what i want is a menu screen that appears when you put the cd in your pc and allows you to play either the cd tracks or the music videos on the menus form.
i have no idea where to start with multimedia, having just started vb, so i need to know how to play mpeg files and cd audio tracks, any help, advice, links or tutorials will be much appreciated.
thanks

you might want to try the Microsoft Multimedia Control ... It ships with VB6 Enterprise. Dont know if it ships with any lower versions.

Hope this helps

If you just want to play the files, you can use the ShellExecute to play them via the default system player - Windows Media, etc..
If you want to play them on a custom form then you'll have to embed the appropriate ActiveX.

Search the forum for ShellExecute for some more info...

sorry didn't follw laurents link..... images/icons/wink.gif
