Hi

I'm struggling with this post at other forum but no responding. Hope s/o can help me.
NOTE: somehow my posting didn't show correct syntax, if you notice colon ":" will replace by laughing face

I used data control linked with Access database with password.
I've Form_Load sub to open dba with password and this gave no error:

db.open "PROVIDER=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=" & App.Path & "\mydata.mdb;Jet OLEDB:Database Password=mypassword;"

But somewhere in my code I had following code, and I had error for NOT VALID PASSWORD??

data1.DatabaseName = App.Path + "\mydata.mdb;Jet OLEDB:Database Password=mypassword;"

what is correct syntax to connect databaseName for above line???

Thanks

Hi Shurik12,

The link doesn't help. It told to set password at data.connect property. That is

data1.connect = "Access 2000;Password=mypasswd"
data1.databasename = <link to my database>

But the first line doesn't seem get through, complaining s/t "Could not find installable ISAM". I read one of Knowledge base from MS, I checked all registry database show at correct path name but no succeed

I've also tried to change "Password" into "Jet OLDE:Database Password" and it doesn't work either. What is differences between setting password syntax? I saw some likes ":Pwd", some likes "Password" and some like "Jet OLEDB:Database Password".
Do you know what is right syntax???
