Important - Email Access Record

This is quite important to me and am looking for quick answers.

I am getting a record from an access database.

I want to be able to email that record to an email address obtained from the database with a short message. I need this to be done inside a function as there are likely to be in the hundreds of emails.

I want to know if it is possible using VB and if it is, what commands etc would it take.

Any Help greatly appreciated.

You can do it using the Winsock control, and crafting the appropriate SMTP packets to send to your SMTP mail server. You can find the SMTP specification at www.rfc-editor.org, and there should be plenty of sample code at www.pscode.com if you search for SMTP.

It's totally possible with VB. You would need to query the other database to get the email address, then use MAPI to send it. You can also send the record information in the email.

However, you won't be able to send it through as a file, but can add the records in as text.
