Image editing

Note : this has absolutely nothing to do with VB.

I've got a bunch of images (about 3000 of them) which have a brownish background, pixeled in about 20 different brown shades. I'd like to place them on my site, which has a black background, so either the backgrounds of the images have to be black or have to be transparent.

Is there a tool or an easy, time-saving way to do this ? Something like 'group palette adjusting' ...

If you have Jasc Animation Shop 3 then you can stick all your pictures together as frames of an animation and edit them all in one go, and then save each frame seperately, you can also reduce the amount of colours used so that those 20 browns will turn into 1 brown, but how that will affect the rest of your image depends
