HandShaking?!?

What is handshaking and how can I use it? (In MSComm control)

Handshaking is the method communication systems, both hardware and software, use to establish the rules of the conversation they are about to have.
The handshake can exchange such information as baud rate, encryption algorithms, and compression algorithms, as well as numerous others.
The MSComm control does the handshaking for you when you specify how you wish to connect in the .Settings property.
