VC VS VB ?

I want to ask for some opinion on the selection of language. As a beginner, or a game programmer, Which language is better, VC++ or VB? Although here is VB forum, I still hope to know which one is more suitable. thank you.

For a beginner VB is much more easier to learn than VC++.

For creating games you can also use VB, but I think at the end C(++) is more suited for this because of the higher execution speed.
