I am looking for a good IRC network with a good VisualBasic channel. Does anyone know of any?

We have our own IRC channel... connect to any EFNet server, and join #extreme-vb , and we'll see you there !!

Where do you live? It's good to try a server near you.

1) Choose a server which is close to your geographical location. Living in London (UK) as I do, I use efnet.demon.co.uk because that is near me. Servers are more likely to accept connections from local addresses.

2) Dont use what are known as erroneous nicknames. Often, servers dont like people with a nickname with Bot in it, or control codes, or that start with numerics. Other servers, such as the one robot313 obviously uses, are more flexible.

3) Firewalls. These can prevent you from connecting. Try turning it off for a short while while you connect. Once you connect, you can turn it on again. If this works, then you might be able to set your firewall to ignore connect attempts by mIRC.

Make sure you enable your Identd server.

The three servers I can usually always connect to are:
1. San Luis Obispo (prison.net)
2. Homelien (homelien.no)
3. Edmonton (arcti.net)

Thinker and Squirm, guess you didn't know, vbasic connected fine after I told him/her to use prison.
