Logging in to Visual Basic Forum...

Hi there,

I want to log into Visual Basic Forum automatically. I tried the following:

http://Visual%20Developer:<PASSWORD HERE>@www.visualbasicforum.com

However, this does not work. Is there any way I can specfiy the password within a link or something. For example, obviously when we log in to the forum the user name and password are taken from the textboxes, but can I not specify the username and password from within a HTML Shortcut file so that when I click once it automatically logs in to the visual basic forums.

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated...

Why not use cookies then you will not need to log in?

Cookies??? Internet Explorer uses cookies - they are not disabled. The site just has no option such as "Remember Password"...

It always remembers MY password...

I never have to 'log on', cookies take care of that. Upon getting to the site, I can start posting straight away. Surely this cant be just me?

When you log in bookmark the main page and use that bookmark when you return. It will use the username and password stored in the cookie.

I thought the secret was to just not click logout..

thanks. it works now. I have bookmarked the control panel page and now I don't ned to always enter my password. Thanks guys.
