a while back i posted for help on how to locate modems, the port they're on, and their name. i also noticed someone posting a similar request recently.
since then i have found ways around it, but a couple days ago i found some code on a few apparently undocumented APIs, one including iRasEnumDevices. the code is sparsely commented and i don't understand what it's doing (yet), but i stripped the code, organized it, and made the attached project.
all it will do is populate a cbo box with the names of the active modems on your system; like ;"Lucent WinModem".
i'd love for a few other people to come together and make a free open source Serial control that does things like include zmodem support, modem listing, maybe some DUN interaction
