Chatroom Cool Graphics

I have the knowledge to build a LAN chatroom. However i really want to create one with good graphics (MSN style), but not sure the best way to go about this. what i mean is how to put in fancy textboxes (curved edges) and make it look really smart.

if anyone can help than it would be appreciated. im not very good with the GUI of my programs.

What you want is skinning. Pretty common thing, there are ways to both do it yourself or buy a third party control. Quick forum search in Interface & Graphics and Random Thoughts should turn something up.
