Those Black Usernames...

OK, I've been wondering this for a long time. I even asked Thinker and he didn't know, so maybe one of the other mods or admins (or anyone that has experience with WWWThreads?) could tell me: why are some of the usernames black. On my forum color scheme, the background is a very dark navy blue. Now, black on dark dark blue makes it sometimes hard to read, and I was just wondering what's up with that.

So... anyone know?

Someone told me that they were visited links i.e. you have looked at that person's personal profile. However, I can confirm that this isn't the case, because even some new members who I never seen before come up black to me. Most strange.

I get Bonzo in black all the time, what about you? Who do you get in black? Maybe there is some strange connection...

Bonzo, Spike, Ryo2 and RussianSpy are just a few examples... before he became orange, usetheforce2 was black, too.

Clear your temp net files just to see what happens...

Yup, those ones I always get black, including usetheforce2, until he got Expert'ed. This is strange...

Yeah I get at least two of those black too. Maybe others as well...

Strange, but I have only those names black, wich I've added to my adress book. And my colour scheme is default (I think) - gray/blue.

Squirm, it doesn't explain the whole thing, but it is true that if I click on a
name link, that name then shows up as black. I wish I knew of some black
names that I haven't clicked on before.

I think I got it. If you look at their profiles, every single one of the black users registered before 2001. Is there a reason for this?

i have always wondered why my name was black too...

Well, that was just what I needed to see the difference. Looks like older
usernames were brought in from another system, and the user color field
is not identical to the user color field for users who register in this system.
I changed Spike to match and from this point forward, Spike's posts should
have his name in dark blue.
