The Hand said awhile back when i was getting help on subclassing that he'd hope i'd share the screen shots of my UI...so
i made some, and posted them on the web

I will be putting the source on Planet Source Code in a few weeks...but there are still some bugs and stuff, plus im still working on comments.

It looks like you have put a LOT of work into it. Cant say I like the BG for your menus, but hey, thats me.

For the most part I do like your screenshots, except for the way the round forms have to visible borders.... I think there should be some visible black line, or embossed edge around the sides.

And, a little suggestion for it too, add something so I can close it. The only way is to use the menu. Maybe put in a right click menu option to Exit on the Tray icon?

thanks for the responces so far...i was thinking the same thing about the menu and help background...i may change them. I just wanted something bright, and that was the first thing i saw, so i used it.
i will also fix up those round forms too.
i have been working on this project on and off for about 4/5 months. thanks again for the feedback

I think the Windows XP interface ruins the effect...

I don't like the menu backgrounds, apart from that, very funky... I hope your EXE isn't like megabytes big though!

the Game Board is around 5 megs, and the server is only 470kb...i made a setup file, and with all the runtime/ help file stuff, its only 3 megs conpressed so its not too bad.

Aside from that, like I said it is very good. I finally saw the rest of the screenshots (I missed that second link first time around) and I like them. I agree about the menus, and one thing I've always hated was MS Comic Sans Serif. images/icons/smile.gif I just can't stand that font. But, lookin' good.

It looks almost exactly like the other Windows interface. That's the way I have it right now.

Basically, you are not turning off XP. It has a classic UI style which mimic the old Win2K UI.

Yeah, theres just another "skin" which is the "classic" windows interface such as Windows 2000. I like the nice blue XP one though, I am well and truly used to it.

<font color=orange>Well...i made all the pictures in a graphic editing program (i use paint shop pro 7), and some picture boxes. Then i just used the Click events and MouseMove events of the picture boxes combined with loops to make the menu appear.
