man, well, where to start, you should make a little explorer app...(of smaller size that is),..there are many other ideas tooo, how could you not think of any!
for eg a dj compiler, .....and little handy things in general that people can put on their start menu;)

here's another idea,..people get bored of notepad...etc...but people use it a lot cause it's quick easy etc...but jusst make a black background one, or wait,! let people choose there own colours! i'd download programs like these in a sec!

Can you write an object for me, in VB that would take as its parameter, a phone number and then dials it, with out having the default phone dialer pop up. I have already tried with tapiRequestMakeCall etc...but then the MS Phone dialer pop ups....

LOL. Not quite the kind of responses you were looking, for, eh amram? Here's a proposition along the lines of your idea:
I think I saw this somewhere, but it was primitive and inflexible. How 'bout if you track the area around the mouse icon, and "convert" it to a gif as suggested, then maybe being able to launch programs by certain motions of the mouse. Such as... Have a full screen invisible form (your app) so that if you say... right and left click while drawing a check mark (choose a size) on the desktop, then Word opens. If you draw a slash, then some other app opens. Or, shutdown windows by drawing a circle or zig zag. You should be able to specify shapes and associated application events from a menu. Then, fuzzy logic can compare what the user drew to your "standard" shapes. How bout it?? Doesn't seem impossible, but you know lots more than I do...maybe there are some massive hidden probs such as the comparison? It's an idea anyway...rather than a HW assignment. heh heh heh...

First of all, I would like to tell everyone ready to make a post, I am not looking to do someone's homework for them or make a personal app for them. I wan't to make a full Scale app. Not something that adds up time or does something basic.

<font color=red>RHOARKE</font color=red>-My Idea was to make like a video recorder for the screen and capture a series of screenshots and put em together to make an animated gif or AVI. AVI's can be used in help files and GIFs can be used in WEb pages, so it should be flexible

If you didn't want to write someones app for them, maybe you shouldn't have entitled the post 'Who would like a program that ...'. That said, a program that I am currently working on may be of interest, I am writing a app that reads in a DXF file of a building layout and then you can drop icons onto it to represent connections on a network. The program also links to a database that contains the hardware specification of the connection. I am also planning for each machine that logs on to run a small app that records their username and connection information, so I can tell who is on what machine and send them messages etc. Not that difficult, but you may be able to put a new slant on it.

A project which I have attempted a number of times over the last few years (without much success I should add) is a utility for directly converting Access (2, 95,97) reports to any version of Crystal Reports.

I don't even know if its possible, any thoughts welcomed

What I meant was an Idea of an app, basically. I wont make an app for 1 particular person. I just wanted opinions on what would make on'es life alot easier

Oh yeah... the reason the title was "Who would like a program that..." was because I was asking people if they would find a program that I am creating useful. It says it clearly in the post. I guess no one really reads the post, but only the replies.
