Don't have a licence

I have recently migrated my ancient copy of VB5 sp3 to a new computer running xp home. I want to modify an equally ancient project which incorporates the cmdlg (sp3) control. However, when I open the project it tells me there are errors loading, and that I don't have a licence to use the cmdlg control. But of course I must have had a "licence" when first compiling the project! So, the bottom line is, how do I register the cmdlg control? I tried using regsvr32 on the file comdlg32.oca but that didn't work. Help! Please!

Delete the .OCA file and use regsvr32 on the comdlg32.OCX

Hi there. I had the same problem (ancient program, vb5, licensing issues)

I went to http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=181854&sd=msdn and downloaded their program (vb5cli.exe) to fix the problem. Seems to be working now.
