I'm missing those red numbers (got used to them)

Hi!

Must say, I like the new look but I'm missing those red numbers beside the threads which indicate new posts or threads being added to. Maybe it's just me but I kinda loved them (got attached to them!).

Any chance to bring them back?:D :D :D

You see this -->http://www.visualbasicforum.com/images/blue/lastpost.gif next to the date next to forum info, date and last poster. Click that and it will take you to the new threads.

Yup, I see it now. I was wondering what those X's ment ( I didn't see the actual icon).
Thanx. I'll get used to it, I'm sure.

I would still prefer a way of seeing how many new posts there are in a board.

This new forum is going to take some getting used to... I wonder if there is a color scheme similar to the last one

/me goes to check

I was just about to post a similar request. Of the three styles available, I hate them all. Please give us the old default style back.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who hates this color scheme! Now excuse me while I have an epilleptic fit.

I'm using the white with purple now, but I liked the "old" grey one better :(

I'm using that too. Its just a little too washed out for my tastes.

Don't worry, all! :) VolteFace to the rescue. Thinker is writing a Style Sheet creator program, which he's gonna send to me for cleaning of UI and making of styles. I will remake my volte2, and also some lighter styles. For those who like the old grey, I will attempt a remake.

By the way, can the Moderators not be that awful shade of bright green? I think that whatever color sea-green is,(MOO) would make a good moderator color.

I like that awful shade of green and since I am doing the changes
to give usernames color, I say 'live with it'. ;)
I don't hear you complaining about being orange.

I'm using the 'new blue' one or whatever its called. IMHO its the best of a bad lot. I like the scheme, except all the Expert/Guru/Mod/Admin colours seriously clash.

My only other gripe is having to 'mark' your posts as read

Other than that, I like this forum almost as much as the old..... at least this will 'hopefully' be more stable.

The red/green/orange/purple colors are to bright, it makes my eyes hurt

Maybe you would like to go back to white?

???

I think the badge colors are just to bright with a white or light grey background, the old colors were better to my opinion

The orange (Expert) and green (Mod) titles are too bright. Also, this new scheme 'grey' is too bright. I think the white should be made into dark grey, like the old forums...... and normal user colours should be dark blue..

Just my two pence :D

Is this dimmed down enough?

Volte

Yes, that's excellent (although the admin colors were fine ;) I now fear what volte2 will do to them). You guys have been doing a great job of making this place feel like home. :) Keep it up!

I added custom replacements for the four user colors so that if we
ever get to the place where we can set up new styles, it will be
possible to have matching colors for each style.

Call me crazy, I like the Lite style, it is very easy on the eyes. I don't like high-contrast between colors. Although I do agree that the names and badges are not as legible.

Arrgh!
The fonts have suddenly gone all screwy for me! :(

I really really like these new forums... I'm * Expert * and Senior Contributor, the Who's Online is much more detailed, I seem to be considered a 'leader', this awesome UI for replying, it's just all around good software!

The one thing that still bugs me is that you can't see how many new threads/replies there are in a forum from the main page.

Either that, or have the folder icons so they actually clear from being red to yellow again when all threads have been viewed in the forum, like I guess they're supposed to, without having to manually "Mark all threads in forum read".

Other than that, I love the look of it now we got this "lite with blue" one sorted properly. Nice one!

Not sure if I like this yet, but when anything about you changes (post count/title/colour/avatar) then it also changes on ALL your previous posts.

I just had a look at my first ever post here, and it says * Expert * next to it, and so sometimes I cant tell how new someone is/was at one time.

As I said, Im not criticising it, because theres nothing wrong with it, I guess its just another thing thats 'different' from the old forum *sigh*

Yes, it looks a bit strange, but from a database standpoint, it is
much more efficient to not store all that user info on each post.
Like you said, just one more thing to get used to. :)
