two nit pik

1) Is it only me, or does this server appear slower. I have a cable connection. Half the time I have to resubmit my page request several times before the page opens. The other half of the time, it pops right up.

1a) In that same vein, it is sometimes quicker to back out of a thread with links rather than using the back button. I though the cached file would load immediately and only be slow if the page needed to be resent to be refreshed. Perhaps someone can set me straight on how/why this happens.

2) How to subscribe to a forum?? I can't seem to find it. And what exactly does this do? When I log in, I would prefer not to see the forums I care nothing about at this point in time, such as game programming, API, Palm, DirectX or whatever. If I only saw what I 'subscribed' to, then I wouldnt have to scroll around. Is that what 'subscribing" does??

1a) I think that the pages are being prevented from being cached anymore.

2) There is a link to subscribe to a board just above the Mark Board as Read link. It places the boards into your control panel.

1: Don't know what might be causing the slowdown. Does it only happen here or does it happen at other sites as well?

2: Hitting the back button won't reload the page in your cache. I have a no cache header to keep the content fresh.

3: To subscribe to a forum, when you enter the forum at the top of the page under the new thread icon there is a link to subscribe to forum. This link is also at the bottom of the page. After you subscribe a link will show up in your control panel.
