I saw in a post where someone recommended www.vpip.com as a resource. I want to start writing winsock applications, so I downloaded this one just to see how it works.

http://www.vbip.com/winsock/winsock_terminal.asp

The problem I am having is that when I go to open the project I get an error saying that threed32.ocx could not be loaded.

What is this control and where can I get it?

Thanks in advance....

I thought VB came with that. I know there was a problem with VB5 registering it properly. Look in your windows\system folder and see if it's there. If it is, regsvr32 threed32.ocx it and see if that fixes it. If it isn't there, search your VB cd for it. If you find it, copy it to your hdd and then register it.

That was the first thing I did was search my entire machine for it. I have VB 6 Enterprise Edition installed, but it isn't anywhere on my computer. Is it available for download from somewhere?

It appears that this is included with vbscript.

Look here (http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnwsvbs/html/usingactivexcontrolsinvbscript.asp)

well..i have threed32.ocx..it comes for free with VB5..

but it isn't included with VB6..!

look in the Tools/Controls..folder In tHe VB5 CD..

as for the OCX itself..

well it provides a list of 3D \ActiveX Controls..
like 3D Command Button..,Option ,Frame..check Box etc..

also It Appears In the Project/Components Controls list as

"Sheridan 3D Controls"

Hope this Helps..!
