Another weird error - connection object related.

04-13-2004, 07:38 PM
An error message "[Client Access ODBC Driver (32-bit)][db2/400 sql]SQL0404-value for column TYPE too long." pops out randomly, while executing this command.

strSQL = "[I]INSERT Statement"

gConnect.Execute strSQL

I've already checked the values inserted and they are all within the size limits of each field. The values are valid, when i execute the same INSERT statement in AS/400 ... it doesn't return any error or it just executes properly.

And this same command is already executed a thousand times earlier and it already works.

Do i need to open close then re-open the connection object too or free the connection object before creating a new one? 'Coz i don't think its appropriate when i need to use the same object multiple times.

As always, thanks in advance.
