I'm using vb 5
i know direct x can do transparency based on the background color of a picture. however i do not know how find out the rgb color transparency based on the background of the picture. do you know of an easy way to do this.

If you cant understand the above example heres a more detailed one. Im using direct x to do blitting transparency. however the tranceparency (i think they call it key) is in rgb black i think the value of 0. if i have a picture with a different background how do i find that background rgb and iterperate it into the trancparency of the blitted object.

thanks for any help.

Do you know the hexadecimal color code for it?
If so I can convert it for you.

Or you could open the picture up in paint and find the rgb value.

Putting the picture in a paint program is a good idea. That will probabely work.
Thanks
