Maybe it's just me, but I don't like the way the new forums are implemented.

Net has become a forum with sub forums (which I find confusing) and the same for Web Programming

I agree with Arnout. having sub-forums like that just serves to be more confusion. They should be either a: under their own catergory, or b: be in the same catergory as the other new language boards.

just my 2cents. or pounds, depending on where you live :D

Hmmmm, I kind of liked the way it grouped things together. I
might have done the same with the new C/C++ and Asm under
another main forum.
It is a bit more confusing with the read/unread indicators. I guess
there is no perfect way to do it.

Its not the nested forums thing that annoys me, I think its very similar to a conventional directory structure with directories containing files and/or more directories. Heh :)

My main annoyance is that the 3 new programming forums are plonked right between General and Visual Basic and this means when I go to click on Random Thoughts I end up in Web Programming. I guess it will just take time to get used to..... :(

There MUST be a better way of implementing the new forums than this.

My suggestion: Make a new group (on the index page) called .NET. This can host Visual Basic.NET, C#.NET and ASP.NET. That would be a good, logical start.

I should add, I feel so strongly about this because ASP.NET is so COMPLETELY different from ASP, just like VB.NET is from VB.

I agree divil. But, I want .NET to emerge from infancy before it is expanded. When .NET becomes mainstream like VB then I will add a new category for it. In fact a day will come when it probably will be the main focus of this community. For now I'll leave things as they are.

Well, personally, I like it. It seems natural, as I expected. Thanks!

Well although I'm pretty much a newcomer to these forums, I must say that form the short amount of the old forums I saw, I prefer these ones.

They are easier to navigate in my opinion.
