My Norton Antivirus software reports that the topic
"Send Outlook Message" by Mojo
contains vbs.love virus
I don't know if it's true or not since norton kept me from accessing the file but I would recommend *caution*!

I just got the virus on my computer at work.
it has "joke" in the title.
Don't open the email and if you do, don't open the attachement.

The thing is, it's not an e-mail. I just clicked on the "Send Outlook Message" topic in this forum and my antivirus reacted. I assume that one of the posters to this topic had an attachment that contained a virus.
I've never before saw a case where a virus spread through a forum so I was somewhat surprised.

Just for your information Roger, the "LoveBug" virus activates on the MouseOver event. You don't have to open the attachment to get it, you only need to run your mouse over the body of the message (or parts of it), and you have it.
We dealt with it at one of my clients. Two people got it, and it wiped technical drawings off four servers. Thank goodness for backups!

Will our virus scan be able to protect our systme against it?
Hi,
I'd had a quick look at this thread, no ill effects - I didn't look at any attachments, but I did bookmark it for future reference as I'm sure I shall need this code sometime. With cautionary note here I've binned that, but it still remains a useful thread can anyone post a clean version of the code, would be a great help,
Cheers
Phil
I have already done this post.
I run Sophos in background on my machine, and update every month, it did detect a copt of the virus when one of my network stations got the virus a couple of months ago, but it detected nothing when I went near this post.
I have also since carried out a full system scan with no virus found.
THIS IS NOT INTENDED TO VERIFY OR SUGGEST THAT THE POST IS CLEAN - I PROVIDE THIS FOR INFORMATION ONLY !
Do we now if mojo has the virus, have we heard from them?

I just want to reiterate that I don't know for sure what the problem with Mojo's topic was, all I know is that Norton AV reported a virus when I accessed the topic. In addition, if there was a virus, I don't know if it was from Mojos post or one of the replies.

Well...I got a reply from the Webmaster of this forum and he tells me that he can't find a virus in the topic so maybe it's just my copy of NAV giving a false alarm.
Sorry for the confusion.
