Hey,

I am writing an freeware internt game called "Spick Wars" and i would like to know how I could create an internet session between two computers or if possible how to create a server on the internat and have my games connect to this so that there could be more than two players.

Any help would be appreciated and if you are intrested in the project contact me - neon@Programmer.net - The project is just forming in my mind and i would like to get a team together to turn the idea into a reality... Help would be needed in the programming and graphics side of things... I've got the concept nailed down & ive got school holidays coming up...

Also if you know anybody who would like to become a server for this game - if it is possible - could you tell them to contact me...

Once again - any help would be appreciated...

Thanx

Currently, neither I nor my colleages know very much about creating multiplayer games, but I would be interested in helping with your project. Visit my web-site: Solenoid.50megs.com.

The name "Spick Wars" might not be appropriate unless you *really* want to insult the spanish american market...

Good idea: Not to insult a major ethicity with your first program.

Hey if i wanna insult these so called 'spicks' then i can, its a free world.. & ne way it serves them right for stealing the name of my game.

^_^

(for all you ppl out there who take this seriously should seriously think about ending their pitiful existince of a life, or seek immediate counsilling. Where would this world be without humour - some of my high school teachers do not understand this simple yet important factor in a healthy lifestyle. For instance my english teacher cannot understand why my class laughs every time that he says "come" or when he said "your sister was better" to one of my friends. Of course taking into account that my class is the most immature in the whole school and that the exapmles i provided you with are totally out of context and yeah... If you have bothered to actually read a single thing that i have write congradulate yourself - I just wasted part of your life)

Hey, im working on games at school too where we have an NT network, i've been looking at how to get a network game going for a board game like cleudo or monopoly. so far the best way i've found is to stick a file on a shared drive on a network with all the variables you need that you can get a timer to refresh the game maybe every second.

hopelessly inefficient and probably irritatingly complex but i haven't heard any better suggestions yet.

good luck and let me know of you work out something better.
