what is wrong with legacy?

i read a lot on here and i have some confusion on wether to use legacy code or not (ex: rnd() or kill() ) is it really important?

Legacy methods were left in the Microsoft.visualbasic portion of the framework in order to make some old code compatible. And also to soften the blow to programmers in learning what amounts to a new language. However, if you plan to use any other .net languages, C# for instance, you will not have the luxury of those compatibility functions. Eventually those functions will be gone and you will have to learn to use the .net framework anyway. So, why not just drop the old VB ways and use the .net framework now? :)
