port address

hey all,

I was wondering if it was possible to clear the memory location associated with a port number.

I've worked with the Mortorolla 68HC12 microprocessor in school, and we were able to manipulate the port data directly. So i thought i may be possible with an Intel chip.

This isn't possible in VB and even in C it is hard. Windows does not allow direct hardware access unless you are registered as a device driver.
I have no idea how you'd write one of those. If I were you I'd search the web for ideas.
