How do i add the Winsock control

hi im trying to make a chat thing with the winsock control but i cant find where you add it and how. The msdn library says to add it to the form but i dont know how and i cant find it.

Go to the Project menu >> Components >> Microsoft Winsock Control

There is an example of chat program at MSDN, look for example program for winsock

is the ms winsock available in vb 6.0 learning edition?

No, I don't believe so. (Don't quote me on this, just a guess.) I'm positive that Winsock doesn't ship with it, but you *might* be able to use it (probably not).

OK, well where can I get it from to attempt it?

look at your c:\windows\system32 folder, there should be a mswinsck.ocx, or just search the file, i think it is included when you install windows, not sure
