The Search page.

These are the things I want to talk about regarding the search page:
The minimum three(I mean 3) letter word requirement for keywords in searching.
and the introduction page to my results of the search.
3 letter word:
What i'm talking about is where I type my keywords to search for it says I need at least 4 letters in a word. So, let's say i'm looking for "richtextbox tab". It comes up and hinders me saying I need to enter more letters.

Page before the results:
This is where it says "We are processing your search" or something along those lines. I understand (at least I think I understand) that this is where it validates the search form. This also slows down the searching process for me too.

I was wondering if we could elimidate this things because when searching for say, 20 differents terms, it slows it down a lot. I mean, if everybody don't feel this way it is fine to leave it but otherwise it would be nice.

Concerning 3 letter word searches: The posts have to be indexed
in order for the word search to work. To change from 4 to 3
would require a time and computer intensive reindex, and would
make all the searches slow down. One trick I have used to get
around the 4 letter minimum for words like tab is to use tab*. Of
course, that will also match words like table so it isn't a perfect
answer.

This brings us to the second question, the speed in which the
results page is brought up. The notice page you get in no way
adds to time necessary to search and format the results. It is
just a confirmation that the search is under way.

Besides a reassurance that my search hasn't been lost somewhere in space what else it the notice page used for?

Just something for you to read while you wait for the results.:)
