Custom Actions

OK, I have an installation project that contains an exe that I want to run after the install is completed. I have created a custom action for the executable, but upon completion of the install, the program a.) does not execute, or b.) interface is not appearing. I have tested the exe for possible issues, but it runs perfectly by itself. Any help would be much appreciated!!
