What do you think of those egoistic "hacker-wannabe-kiddies".

How do you deal with them?

They always think that they are right! But in fact, they aren't!

I am really disgusted by their attitude.

well well u got to consider one thing, there are two types of hackers,

1. those who hack for fun and greed
2. those who learn hacking just to protect themselves

well ill confess iam in the second category of hackers (after a bitter experience with the first category of hackers) :p

Ya. I would also consider him a script kiddie. He's always boasting about planting backdoors on other people's server and such. But I realised something: That day he was trying to do some funny things to my comp (As my firewall log shows. A lot of different kinds of attacks coming from him! he seems to be using some hacker tools ). My goodness.

Also, I have found some loopholes in his comp.(I did a bit of reading on security. I am a newbie) I advise him on it and he didnt seemed to realised it until i told him. But from the way he speaks, he seems to act as if he knows his weakness.

In the end, i am quite disgusted by his attitude. I simply did a NET SEND to his PC and he seems shock and he immediately disconnect.

When he was online again, he asked me whether I had explioted a bug! Obviously he didnt know of the messenger services in win2k/winxp. So i simply told him about it. But again, he acts as if he knows about it! And he asked me how did i do that. His words are contradictings.

One of the most stunning question he asked was "How do I find your IP address" ? I was shocked. He claimed himself to be a l337 hax0r (I dont remember how to spell it). Hence i told him of the netstat -an command. He said i am a "moron".

I am not a computer expert. But frankly, I am really disgusted by his attitude. So nowadays to pacify him, i simply responded : " Really? Oh. I didnt know it. You are so clever."

Lets not forget that, in terms of the cost these people cause the computing industry, software pirates are just as bad, if not worse.

Piracy? But frankly, not everybody can afford oringinal softwares.
Even if there are acadamic versions for students, it can also be a burden.

Hmmm, never thought of that. I can't afford that new Mercedes
I would like so I guess it is ok if I steal it. ;)

Funny isnt it how people are quick to defend those who pirate software and some pirate it themselves, then they want to earn big money in the software industry developing software on their pirated tools and then expect others not to steal their work.

Hypocracy.....

I know your point. But not everyone has the financial abilities to have 100% oringinal on his comp. :p

But I always support buying oringinal OS. :D

But I guess if you are the developer, normally you would use origninal softwares to develope.

Anyway, it is a well known fact that some pirates actually steal their software from their own company and made it available easily online, which is know as war*z . Who knows what they are thinking?

Hackers suck! If they do it for revenge, that's fine, cause if someone hacked me, I'd want to hack them back, if I knew how. But if they're just cruel hackers, they should be executed. Actually, that's not good enough, they should feel the pain of a force such that the universe has never contained before, and it should increase exponentially untill the end of time!

Also, if you copy something cause you'd just rather, than buying it, that's bad, but if you do it cause you can't afford it, or wouldn't pay such a high price, then no one is inconvenienced, cause the company that made it wouldn't have been able to sell it to you anyway, so they're not loosing any money. For example, I have Photoshop, but do you honestly think I have thousands of dollars to blow? The difference between that and stealing a car is that you're not actually taking any material, the company still has all the cds and stuff that it had a minute ago.

Well, if everybody had that view then nobody would pay for software, the companies would get no money, go out of business and so no new software comes out. And if you make some people exempt from paying, why do you make everyone else pay? Where do you draw the line? And finally, why do you think these kinds of things are illegal?

There are no excuses for software piracy. If you think something is priced too high, dont buy it. Simple.
