I must say that although many people seem to think that Java is dead, I have to disagree. Just because Microsoft has stopped shipping it with WindowsXP and IE6 doesn't mean it is dead. This just means that Microsoft would like to see it that way.

I really don't know how active a Java forum would be on here, but I would be willing to help whenever I could.

Just a note: Actually, Java is dying, no doubts there. The main disadvantage is speed. It's painfully slow.

Coments on the idea of a forum:

It would be nice for java programmers, but honestly, we don't have that many java questions. Personally, I'm against it.

For right now, post those java questions in Random Thoughts. If
we get enough of them, we will consider making a board for it.

I think it's safe to say that Java is either dead or dying. Microsoft have even released tools that will convert Java in to .NET, which will then (of course) run faster.
