Migrate VB6 to VB .NET

Hi, I am new to .NET and hopefully you will be patience with me.

I am sure migrating VB6 to VB .NET is not a new topic. But isn't it really easy to migrate the application with some conversion tools as mentioned by some articles? Or it's just like the VB to Delphi conversion tools I used a long time ago, it's not as easy as it claimed to be.

Most importantly, is it possible to install .NET and still keep my Visual Studio 6.0 functioning? I still need to maintain my VB6 applications while trying to migrate to .NET...using the same PC.

Thanks in advance!

I personally never used the VB6 to .NET conversion wizard - it's a good learning exercise to convert code over manually.

You can easily use VB.NET and VB6 on the same machine. They don't interfere with each other at all. I frequently have both open at the same time without any problems whatsoever.
