automatism to check application

hi,

i have a little problem. my webserver (tomcat) is sometimes down.
so i tried to get information in tutorials, where i can build an application,
that checks every 10 minutes, if my application is still runninng.l
if not, it should restart the application.

Can anyone help my with my problem?
What do i need for this?
